A green communal library known as The Butterfly Room contains a rare collection of butterflies bequeathed to the farm. The loft above it became one of the most beautiful honeymoon suites in Africa. The Farmhouse also have access to a new swimming pool, sauna, salt room and library.

With its complex of elegant venues housed in immaculately restored Cape Dutch farm buildings, Babylonstoren provides a versatile environment for events like workshops, weddings and private celebrations.

Comfort is key in the one-bedroom Farmhouse suites where a moody interior theme comprising swarthy four-poster King-size beds, dusted moss walls, luxurious en-suite marble bathrooms and generous walk-in cupboards are paired with contemporary furniture and accessories such as extra-length MDF Italia sofas. In addition, each room is fitted with cast-iron stoves for heat in winter while bookshelves filled with a wonderful selection of books, underfloor heating and free WiFi are just a few of the things that await you. A well-stocked personal bar and breakfast is included in the room rate. All our one-bedroom suites come with a King-size bed or twin beds and are serviced daily.

Elevated above the communal library known as the ‘Butterfly Room' the spacious Farmhouse Loft Room comprises an open-plan bedroom and lounge area that leds into an airy, light-filled bathroom with double doors looking out onto the garden and donkey enclosure. The suite is dominated by a designer Makkum wood-burning stove clad in lustrous green tiles that sits centrally in the room alongside a swarthy four-poster King-size bed paired with a contemporary hanging love seat and an extra-length MDF Italia sofa. With its dusted moss walls and botanical theme, the overall effect is that of a private den with bookshelves filled with a wonderful selection of books, underfloor heating and free WiFi. Not to mention a well-stocked bar. Breakfast is also included in the room rate and the room is serviced daily.
