Fraaigelegen Farm

OPEN TIMES

Ideally situated 130km from Cape Town we are nestled under the majestic Witzenberg Mountains and have stunning views over the valley to the Waterval Mountains. We grow vines and olives and there is an abundance of bird life around us, our dam has trout in it for the fisherman and as a point of interest we have a small grave-site on the farm with headstones dating back to the late1700's.

The bathrooms of the chalets shown boast double showers the others are standard, and bathroom towels are provided. Each one has a fireplace, plus their own private braai facilities. The cost of these is R400 per cottage per night. All you have to do is bring your provisions and settle in. We also have accommodation in an annex built on the garage. It consists of two bedrooms one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a toilet and shower plus a dining room area. There is a patio outside the pub area that can be used for braaing.

Should you wish to explore the surrounding areas, the historic town of Tulbagh is 10km away. You cannot leave the area without seeing Church Street as it has the most national monuments of any street in South Africa.

There are a few good restaurants there and wine tasting can be arranged at any of the many wineries. The Breedekloof valley is only a fifteen-minute drive away, should your palate require a little more coaxing. There is a small game park within 5 km and the national parks of Voelvlei and Ceres take care of all the local fauna and flora. Hiking trails and mountain walks abound so if that is what you want to do there is plenty of choice.

After all this activity, come back to our farm and settle on your patio and enjoy the sunsets that sometimes turn the mountain pink.
