The historic Cape vernacular Manor House dates back to 1812, and is home to our premier wine tasting and pairing experiences.

Join us for wine and food tastings in the recently refurbished Manor House where the history and antiques of the house pair beautifully with the estate’s wines.

Signature experiences are presented from a private room and include a Historic Tasting of 5 wines representing the history of Boschendal; a Connoisseur Tasting of 5 limited release wines; an MCC and Canapé pairing; an MCC and Oyster pairing; and a Shiraz and Angus Beef pairing.

Bookings are essential.

Tastings & Pairings
Chef Christiaan Campbell and the team from the Boschendal Werf Restaurant have worked closely with Cellar Master JC Bekker to create small tasting dishes that serve as exquisite companions for the wines.

Boschendal is famous for its Angus beef and this tasty affair pairs four beef canapés with four of the estate’s well-known Shiraz / Shiraz-based blends, and takes place in the Exclusive Lounge.

Historic Tasting

Duration: 1 hour
Price: R150 per person

Commencing on the Manor House ‘stoep’ overlooking the Werf, the historic tasting begins with Jean Le Long bubbles, before guests venture inside to the ‘chaise lounge.’ Here, they’ll be presented with four historically significant wines and plenty of anecdotes and artifacts illuminating what life was like back in the early 1800s.

Connoisseur Tasting

The tasting offers guests five limited release wines, with each wine style served in a different Riedel glass. This will amplify the flavours, aromas and mouth feel, with the beautiful decanters and exclusive lounge setting serving to enhance the whole experience.

Nothing pairs together more exquisitely than MCC and oysters. Try the combination yourself with four oysters and accompanying bubbles at the daily pairing in spring.
