Hanneli also oversees the Rupert Music Foundation which has provided continual support to symphonic orchestras and classical music in South Africa.

Guests are graced with the company of a Steinway dating back to 1942 – one of the last Steinway pianos manufactured in Hamburg before the factory closed due to World War II. Following a family friendship with South African composer Rosa Nepgen, Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg acquired the Rosa Nepgen piano which is used for music in La Motte’s Tasting Room.
Classical Music Concerts
Inspired by La Motte’s owner Hanneli Rupert-Koegelenberg, music lover and celebrated mezzo-soprano, monthly classical music concerts are presented in the beautiful La Motte historic cellar, where a sociable atmosphere enhances the finest performances. A varied selection of classical music is performed by local as well as international artists of the highest esteem.
During performances requiring a piano, guests are graced with the company of a Steinway dating back to 1942.
The La Motte Steinway is one of the last Steinway pianos manufactured in Hamburg before the closing of the factory due to World War II.
Concerts start at 19:00 and admission is R170. Reservations are essential and valid only after receipt of admission. No refund can be made if a reservation is cancelled.
