Theatre @ Bridge House

Theatre @ Bridge House

Performances run for select weeks of the year, please enquire.

Bridge House is a distinguished private school cast in the setting of the Franschhoek winelands on private grounds of eloquence. The theatre building on the school grounds is inspired by the structure of an elaborate historic barnyard creating a rustic atmosphere fitting for applause. When not in use for school productions (although also dramatically acclaimed) the theatre displays a variety of professional private productions throughout the year.

Franschhoek as the culinary capital of South Africa delights in its deli selection choices to bring along for a private pre-theatre picnic. Wooden tables in the theatre hold your feast of local fresh baked breads, cheeses, wine, handpicked berries, Belgian chocolatier treats as you, family and friends eat, drink and be merry before curtain up and be even merrier thanks to the entertainment after curtain up.

Spend a day tasting wines at the local wineries a plenty and complete the cultural affair with a display of pirouettes and arabesques in pink satin slippers and tutus at the one of the Theatre's seasonal Ballet productions. Perhaps on another occasion go for a sunset horse ride in the Franschhoek valley followed by an evening of resting your legs to the tune of one of the Theatre's scheduled Musical Productions. Combine the Theatre's occasional Jazz evenings with a meal of distinction from one of eight of South Africa’s top ten restaurants all situated in the same valley, music for your palate.

Take an afternoon drive on the Franschhoek Pass and witness the view of the Heavens followed by a Choir Production at the Theatre fitting for angels. Should none of the above appeal; hire out the venue for a wedding or private function and dare a few of your mates to present an evening of Shakespearian sonnets for the benefit of a local charity of your choice, even if its just to see who will triumph - man or the iambic pentameter... whatever happens take a bow like you planned it!
